Adopt a Park!

Note:  Officer Lindley notified us that he had to replace the locks on the bag dispensers. If you currently have a key to fill the dispensers, it probably won't work. You can pick up another key at the Animal Services Office at City Hall
(Jim says Thurs nights are best). Thanks!

Below is a list of parks located in the city of Beverly. Presently, only four parks have bag dispensers that hold bags for dog walkers. Were you ever distressed wearing the only jacket that didn’t have plastic bags stuffed in the pockets? Were you ever seen trying to find a stick nearby to puck the stuff into a nearby bush, out of harm's way?

Keep in mind as you enlist creative ways to scoop poop that it remains your responsibility to pick up after your dog. We are fortunate to live in a city that offers bags to deal with dog doo. More importantly, once the poop is in the bag, please dispose of the bag properly. Storm drains, tree trunks, and the bases of telephone poles are not an alternative. Don't leave bagged poop for other people to dispose of! Please do bring the "doo" to the nearest trash barrel or do take the "doo" home.

If you live near any of the parks noted below and want to help with BARC's effort to keep city parks clear of unsightly "poop," please consider adopting a park. Try even adopting your street for that matter.

It is BARC's goal to work with the Animal Control Officer in keeping Beverly parks free from dog mess. As BARC looks for ways to help the ACO, however, you can begin to make a difference by looking after one of the parks in your neighborhood. The Animal Control Officer is currently gathering names of individuals who wish to help with the four parks that have dispensers. Remember, however, that there are so many more that need attention also. Thanks for your help in keeping all Beverly parks poop-free.
