From the Animal Services Officer

Getting Bowser Out of JAIL.

If your dog has been apprehended by Animal Services
the following may happen.

If your dog has been placed in the Animal Services Vehicle you will be charged a $30 Impound fee if your dog is returned to you directly or is taken to the impound facility. If your dog is identified by its tags one attempt will be made to contact be the phone number of record on the license file. If you cannot be reached the dog will be taken to the impound facility.

Any dog that has been taken to the impound facility and is not licensed or wearing its current license tag will need its owner to prove the dog is current on its rabies vaccination and licensed. Any dog not current on its rabies vaccination will have to be vaccinated on site at the expense of the owner for the dog to be released, with the exception of a dog that has been exempt due to reaction to rabies vaccine, which must be confirmed in writing be the dogs regular veterinarian.

Any dog not currently licensed will have to be licensed before release. If Beverly City Clerk's Office is closed the owner will be required to pay the license fee and the tags shall be forwared to them by the City Clrek's Office next business day.You will pay at that time the $30 impound fee, $26 kennel fee per day and any fines or medical services provided during the impoundment of your dog.

Effective April 1, 2005 the City's Impound & Veterinary Care will be provide by the BORASH VETERINARY CLINIC

The City will no longer be affiliated with Danvers Animal Hospital.

All dog owners must contact the Animal Services Officer before their dog can be released. You can call 978-921-6040 ext 311 or call Police Dispatch 978-922-1212 and ask the to page the ASO on your behalf.

The impound facility will not release an animal without verbal confirmation from Animal Services. Owners are required to call Borash Vet Clinic in advance to make arrangeents to pick up their pet. You will be asked to leave the premises if you go there without calling in advance.
