Letter to the Editor:
Please count me as one who appreciates walking with my dog in Lynch Park and
who does not want to give up that privilege. I understand that the Beverly
Recreation Department wants to prevent all dog owners from enjoying the park
(and possibly other Beverly parks) because of complaints about some dogs, whose
owners do not pick up after them.
There are so many of us who are responsible dog owners and appalled by those
who are not. We walk in the park because we appreciate its beauty and should
not be penalized for the actions of a few.
A stronger law will not affect people who ignore the current law and do not
pick up after their dogs. It is those of us who are responsible dog owners who
will be adversely and unfairly affected.
